At 8 o’clock this evening many, many people will be standing at their front doors (or open windows) and giving a round of applause in support of NHS workers. PLEASE TELL YOUR STAFF THAT WHEN THEY HEAR THIS, IT IS FOR THEM TOO. It is not surprising that media focus on Covid-19 tends to be on NHS facilities and staff as they bear the greatest test from the current extreme circumstances. However, I’m sure the public, if they understood the work undertaken in the social and nursing home sectors better, would wish to include you and your staff in their applause both for what you are doing to protect your vulnerable residents, and for keeping some pressure of the NHS.
